The graphic of the property displayed on the Frederick News Post site is EastAlco’s vision of how the property could be laid out to fit a swimming pool and a number of different types of athletic fields. We will be working over the coming months to finalize a design and prioritize what can be implemented quickly to help alleviate the lack of facilities for our community.
Click here to see a .pdf of Eastalco’s vision of the property (large file ~1MB). It is the property contained in the outlined box on the right hand side of the graphic.
Note: The graphic on the Frederick News Post web site incorrectly identifies the location of Carroll Manor Elementary School (the building identified is actually Trans-Tech). This graphic has been updated to correctly identify Trans-Tech.

Results of third party testing show fluoride levels at CMES well within guidelines. PTA President and CMVC Vice President Suzanne Fioravanti along with Bob Cramer (Carroll Manor Grange) tracked down the fluoride testing that is done in this area. It is not done by the State, but rather by a third party – Environmental Strategies. One of the areas they test is the deciduous trees and shrubs from in front of Carroll Manor Elementary School, and the report is sent to the FCPS. She requested and just received an official copy of the the fluoride levels for the school. In summary – Maryland standards have a limit of 100ppm as maximum accepted levels of fluoride. The report shows that the trees in front of CMES have levels of 5-14 ppm depending on the type of tree. These tests are dated 8/22-23/2005. We believe that this information will help eliminate some of the fears being written in the FNP editorials. If the schools grounds are clean, the land right next to the school should also be clean – and this is the actual land being donated for the community.
